Principal’s Welcome
Mr Graham Elliott – Principal of Chirnside Park Primary School
Welcome To Chirnside Park
I am really excited that you have landed on our website and are reading about this wonderful school that I am so proud to lead.
We are a ‘Character’ school.
There is a major emphasis on promoting and actively teaching ‘good character’ through our ‘Virtues Program’. This is a program designed to shape character, bringing out and strengthening the best within children eg: courage, honour, justice, kindness.
Vision: To stimulate growth by
- Facilitating a culture that builds happy, resilient and self-motivated students who are on a continuous path of discovery
- Cultivating an inclusive community based culture to inspire excellence and achievement
- Fostering compassion and the acceptance of differences
Purpose: We believe in a safe and stimulating learning environment that grows the minds and character unique to each child.
Our Priority Virtues: Excellence, Respect, Empathy
Our main focus is developing excellence in children’s learning, particularly Literacy and Numeracy.
We are a school of 324 students located at the end of Kimberley Drive in a quiet cul de sac.
We believe our main focus should be on developing children’s Literacy and Numeracy to a high level. However we offer a broad range of extra programs so that every child experiences success and feels good about themselves.
We provide an exciting educational program where learning is relevant and fun, catering for the whole child. We strive for excellence and to instil a love of learning into our students and to make school a place where children want to be.
Every child is encouraged to be the best they can be. Parent input and feedback are welcome and we constantly seek to improve.
One of our greatest strengths is our team of passionate, dedicated staff. They know all of the children very well – students are not just a face in the crowd. Everyone looks after each other. At Chirnside Park we care.
We promote and actively teach our values throughout the school community and believe in teaching children social skills so they can get along.
We welcome visitors at Chirnside Park. The best way to choose a school is to see it in action on an ordinary school day. I would be pleased to arrange a personal tour and discuss your child’s educational needs. Alternatively, start with our video tour.
Chirnside Park is a great school – come and visit us. I am sure you will be impressed.
